Liverpool, meanwhile, are in a stronger financial position and wouldn’t need to sell players to afford the transfer, giving them a significant edge in negotiations.
Bundesliga analyst Ronan Murphy told Anfield Watch, “There are compelling reasons for Wirtz to choose Bayern, but their financial limits could prevent it. Liverpool, on the other hand, can likely make the move without any sales—that’s a big advantage.”
