David Ornstein has confirmed that Liverpool is currently in discussions over several potential summer transfers, with Jeremie Frimpong among the top targets.
The club is preparing for what could be its most ambitious transfer window yet, with Frimpong’s arrival expected to be announced early next week.

Frimpong, expected to slot in at right-back, is likely the first signing. However, the club is also pursuing a new left-back and a high-profile striker. Rumors also suggest that Liverpool is eyeing a new playmaker, with Christopher Nkunku and Florian Wirtz being considered.
Speaking on The Athletic Insiders WhatsApp channel, Ornstein shared that Liverpool is engaged in multiple transfer discussions, reflecting a very active summer for the club.
Frimpong, currently playing for Bayer Leverkusen and a Netherlands international, has been heavily linked with the Reds. Negotiations are advancing, and there is optimism on the player’s end about a move to Anfield.
The deal is appealing to Liverpool, especially due to Frimpong’s €35 million release clause, which is seen as a fair price for the talented 24-year-old. Though the transfer isn’t finalized, both Leverkusen and Frimpong are likely to settle the move after the Bundesliga season wraps up this weekend.
In addition to Frimpong, Liverpool is also close to signing Milos Kerkez from Bournemouth. The Hungarian left-back is seen as a potential long-term successor to Andy Robertson, whose form has dipped this season. A deal worth around £45 million could be finalized when the transfer window opens on June 1.
