Fabrizio Romano reveals Liverpool’s next signing after completing Frimpong transfer
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has shared a major update for Liverpool supporters regarding the club’s next potential signing following the acquisition of Jeremie Frimpong.
Following confirmation that Trent Alexander-Arnold will be leaving Liverpool as a free agent at the end of the season, the club has moved swiftly to secure Frimpong as a replacement. The Reds activated the €35 million release clause in the Dutch international’s Bayer Leverkusen contract, and an official announcement is expected soon.
However, Romano has indicated that Liverpool aren’t finished in the transfer market yet. Manager Arne Slot is planning a squad revamp, with the next target being Bournemouth left-back Milos Kerkez.
Romano posted on X (formerly Twitter) that Liverpool have officially opened talks with Bournemouth for the 21-year-old Hungarian, with negotiations progressing. Simultaneously, Liverpool are working on personal terms with the player.
Kerkez has hinted at a summer move, telling The Athletic in March: “As a kid, you dream to play at the highest level, win trophies, be in top teams… We’ll see what happens this summer.”
The defender has been dropping hints on social media about a potential move to Anfield, and it’s well known that he’s eager to join Liverpool.
While the exact transfer fee and contract terms have not been finalized, both sides expect an agreement soon. If completed, Kerkez will join fellow Hungarian international Dominik Szoboszlai at Liverpool.
