Liverpool is reportedly preparing to spend an additional £170 million on three new players following the near-completion of Jeremie Frimpong’s transfer.
Frimpong is close to finalizing a deal, with contract confirmation expected within days. He is set to replace Trent Alexander-Arnold, who is likely to join Real Madrid before the Club World Cup.
Identified as a key target by new manager Arne Slot, Frimpong’s transfer progressed smoothly, with Liverpool agreeing to pay his £30 million release clause. A five-year contract is ready, and the player is scheduled to undergo a medical in England later this week. The club is expected to make the signing official soon.
Liverpool’s recruitment drive is set to continue as they aim to defend their Premier League title. Among the names linked to the club is Bournemouth left-back Milos Kerkez, valued at £45 million. With ongoing speculation around the futures of Andy Robertson and Kostas Tsimikas, Kerkez is being considered as a potential replacement.
Another target is Florian Wirtz, who has strong ties with Frimpong from their time at Bayer Leverkusen. With interest from Bayern Munich and Manchester City intensifying, Liverpool may move quickly to secure the midfielder, whose asking price is reported to be around £100 million.
Additionally, Liverpool is monitoring Ajax’s Jorrel Hato. The 19-year-old defender was spotted at Anfield earlier this season and has received praise from former Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson. Ajax is open to offers in the region of £25 million, and Hato could prove to be a long-term asset under the management of fellow Dutchman Arne Slot.
