Bayer Leverkusen right-back Jeremie Frimpong has completed his medical at Liverpool and is expected to be the club’s first summer signing.
According to Sky Sports Germany’s Florian Plettenberg, Liverpool are aiming to add five more players. The club is currently prioritizing a center-back, a left-back, a playmaker (No. 10), and a winger.
- Left-back: Milos Kerkez is their primary target, with Jorrel Hato also being considered.
- Playmaker: Florian Wirtz is the top target for the No. 10 role, and Liverpool are determined to secure his signature.
Transfer insider Fabrizio Romano shared on his YouTube channel that Liverpool have already met Wirtz’s parents to present their ambitious vision. Despite Manchester City withdrawing from the race, Liverpool are staying patient and committed, ready to pay a significant fee if Wirtz decides to move to England.
Romano added that while City grew impatient with Wirtz’s indecision, Liverpool are willing to wait, hoping to win him over.
Journalist David Lynch also confirmed the Reds’ interest, noting that while Wirtz is highly admired within the club, expectations are being managed. The belief is that the player might prefer to stay in Germany for another year, either continuing with Leverkusen or potentially moving to Bayern Munich
