**Barcelona Stars Urge Laporta to Sign Viktor Gyökeres in Champions League Push**

Following a season crowned with La Liga, Copa del Rey, and Supercopa victories, Barcelona are setting their sights even higher — and several players are pushing President Joan Laporta to sign a key reinforcement. According to *El Nacional*, there’s growing internal support for the signing of *Viktor Gyökeres*, the prolific Sporting CP striker, seen as a potential game-changer in the club’s Champions League ambitions.

Gyökeres has shone brightly this season, leading the Golden Shoe race with his goal-scoring exploits in Portugal. Valued at around €65 million, the Swedish forward is viewed by many at Barça as an ideal investment due to his age, versatility, and physical and technical profile.

Inside the locker room, players reportedly view the signing as a “golden opportunity” and are eager for the club to act before top European rivals — including Arsenal, Atlético Madrid, and PSG — swoop in. However, financial constraints remain a significant hurdle.

Barcelona’s current priorities lie elsewhere: strengthening the right-back and goalkeeper positions and renewing key contracts. With Robert Lewandowski still leading the line and young talents like Vitor Roque and Marc Guiu emerging, a big-money striker isn’t at the top of the club’s list — at least for now.

Nevertheless, the pressure is mounting. If Laporta doesn’t move quickly, the opportunity to land Gyökeres may vanish — perhaps into the hands of a rival.
