Tottenham edged past Manchester United 1-0 at the San Mames Stadium, finally ending a 17-year wait for a trophy. Both clubs, enduring difficult domestic seasons, were desperate for a win to salvage pride.
Spurs currently sit 17th in the Premier League, with United just above them in 16th — making this a clash of struggling giants.
