La Liga Clubs in Talks with Liverpool Star Darwin Nunez, Player Interested in Transfer

Liverpool is expected to sell Darwin Nunez this summer, with the Uruguayan striker possibly moving back to Spain, where he previously played for Almeria. Despite interest from various clubs, including Serie A leaders Napoli, La Liga seems the most probable destination for him.

Nunez wants to leave Anfield after a challenging season under manager Arne Slot. Liverpool is open to selling him but aims to maximize the transfer fee. Atletico Madrid is among the top contenders to sign the 25-year-old forward.

According to Cadena SER (via Football España), Nunez and his agents have already discussed a potential transfer with Atletico officials, expressing his enthusiasm for joining Diego Simeone’s team this summer.

Atletico is looking for a new striker, as Angel Correa is expected to leave and Antoine Griezmann is likely to have a smaller role next season, despite extending his contract.

Nunez could be an ideal addition for Atletico, especially if he regains his previous form. However, Atletico’s offer might be affected by their interest in other targets like Tottenham’s Cristian Romero and Aston Villa’s Alex Baena.

While Liverpool will have multiple bidders for Nunez, the player’s preferences will be crucial. Currently, Atletico appears to be near the top of his preferred options
