A leading European football star has shown a keen interest in joining FC Barcelona to play alongside young talents Pedri and Lamine Yamal under the guidance of new head coach Hansi Flick.
With Barcelona enjoying a resurgence under Flick—marked by a domestic treble of La Liga, Copa del Rey, and the Spanish Super Cup—the club’s restored identity and tactical clarity have attracted attention from some of the world’s best players.
Barcelona’s impressive form this season included a clean sweep of victories over Real Madrid in El Clásico matches and a strong Champions League campaign that ended in the semi-finals against Inter Milan. Many now view the current squad, brimming with emerging talents like Pau Cubarsí, Alejandro Balde, and Fermín López, as the foundation of a new golden era reminiscent of the Guardiola years.
This resurgence has made Barcelona an appealing destination again, and in recent days, a world-class player reportedly contacted club president Joan Laporta and sporting director Deco to reiterate his desire to join the team. That player is Luis Díaz.
The Colombian winger—currently a vital part of Liverpool’s Premier League-winning squad—was previously linked to Barcelona last summer. While a move didn’t materialize then, Díaz has maintained his dream of playing at Camp Nou and is now seriously considering a switch.
Flick is said to be in favor of signing Díaz, recognizing his explosive pace, technical skills, and match-winning qualities. However, Liverpool is expected to demand more than €70 million for the winger, making the deal financially challenging for Barça.
Another complication is the reaction within the current squad. Some players, including Raphinha and Ferran Torres, are reportedly uncomfortable with the idea of Díaz joining, as it could affect their playing time and roles within the team.
