Liverpool Parade Chaos: 27 Hospitalized After Shocking Crash – Police Issue Major Update

Merseyside Police have shared more info after a terrifying moment during Liverpool FC’s Premier League trophy parade when a car plowed into fans on Water Street.

The driver, a 53-year-old local man, has been arrested. Police say this looks like an isolated incident — not terrorism-related — and they’re not looking for anyone else.

The crash injured 27 people, including four kids. Two people, one of them a child, are seriously hurt. A paramedic on a bike also got hit but escaped serious injury. Emergency crews treated 20 people at the scene.

Firefighters had to rescue three adults and a child trapped under the car. Footage of the incident has been widely circulated online, though police are asking people not to share it and instead send any relevant info to them directly.

One victim, Jack Trotter from Northern Ireland, said from his hospital bed that he’s in a lot of pain after being hit along with his girlfriend.

PM Keir Starmer called the scenes “appalling” and praised the emergency services for acting fast
