During a recent interview with Spanish media, 22-year-old winger Nico Williams addressed growing speculation about a potential move to Liverpool. He shared his appreciation for the interest, saying, “It’s an honor when a major club like Liverpool notices you. It shows that my efforts at Athletic Bilbao are being acknowledged throughout Europe. However, my current priority is finishing the season strong with my team.”
When asked directly about joining the Premier League, Nico offered a measured response: “It’s one of the top leagues in the world, and playing there is a dream for many players. Still, I’m under contract with Athletic Bilbao until 2027, and I have great respect for the club. I’m not thinking about a move right now, but the future is always uncertain.”
He also touched on financial matters, expressing a mature perspective: “There’s often too much focus on salaries and figures. For me, football is about passion and dedication. Of course, every professional wants fair recognition, but my decisions will be based on the overall vision, the environment, and how I can develop as a player — not just money.”
