Eden Hazard was once among the top three footballers in the world during his prime at Lille and Chelsea, dazzling fans with his strength, skill, and creativity on the ball.
However, his move to Real Madrid in 2019 marked the beginning of a downturn in his career. Plagued by injuries and inconsistent form, he eventually faded into a backup role. In October 2023, Hazard announced his retirement from professional football at just 32.
Now 34, Hazard occasionally returns to the pitch in informal matches, but his recent appearance in a viral TikTok video left many fans shocked. The footage shows a visibly out-of-shape Hazard stumbling as he attempts a familiar dribble move—something that once defined his brilliance on the field.
One fan commented, “This is really sad to watch. One of the greatest players now looks like a sack of meat at such a young age.”
Hazard’s career statistics remain impressive. He recorded 110 goals and 88 assists in 352 games for Chelsea, but only managed seven goals in 76 appearances during his four-year spell at Real Madrid.
Despite the criticism, many fans rushed to defend the former star. Some pointed out that he’s retired and shouldn’t be judged for no longer being match fit. Others reminded people of the joy Hazard once brought to football and asked that he be remembered for his legacy—not his current physical condition.
