Real Madrid Looking to Extend Rodrygo’s Contract Despite Uncertain Future

Real Madrid is reportedly eager to extend Brazilian forward Rodrygo Goes’ contract until 2030, even as questions remain about his long-term role at the club. Though currently under contract until 2028, the 24-year-old hasn’t featured in matches during the final stretch of the season, leading to frustration over his playing time.

Rodrygo is said to be seeking clarity regarding his future before committing to an extension. He intends to speak directly with new manager Xabi Alonso to better understand his potential role under the new leadership. Alonso, in his first press conference, acknowledged Rodrygo’s importance but stopped short of making firm statements about individual players’ futures.

While Real Madrid views Rodrygo as central to its long-term vision, contract talks have hit roadblocks. Meanwhile, interest in the player is growing, with clubs such as Paris Saint-Germain, Arsenal, Liverpool, and Manchester City reportedly monitoring his situation.

Rodrygo’s decision is expected to hinge on discussions with Alonso and the level of assurance he receives about his status within the team moving forward.
