Liverpool are reportedly close to securing Bayer Leverkusen star Florian Wirtz, largely due to a crucial commitment made by new manager Arne Slot — a promise Bayern Munich couldn’t rival.
Slot is said to have assured Wirtz that he would be handed the coveted No.10 role at Anfield, positioning him as the central figure in Liverpool’s midfield and attack.
Bayern Munich, on the other hand, couldn’t offer such guarantees. Wirtz would have had to compete with established names like Jamal Musiala and Joshua Kimmich for a similar role under Vincent Kompany.
