Kim Min-jae Drops Hint About Possible Liverpool Transfer

South Korean defender Kim Min-jae has ignited transfer rumors by commenting on speculation about a potential move to Liverpool this summer. La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that AC Milan and Liverpool are both vying to sign the Bayern Munich centre-back, with the Premier League club closely tracking his situation.

In an exclusive interview with Yonhap News, Kim suggested he might consider a Premier League switch, stating: “I have always admired the intensity of English football. If the chance arises to join a club like Liverpool, known for its rich history and passionate supporters, I would seriously think about it.”

Kim transferred to Bayern Munich from Napoli in July 2023 for €50 million, making him the most expensive Asian player ever.

Unfortunately, his 2024/25 campaign was affected by a recurring Achilles tendon injury and a cyst in his left foot, which kept him out for several months and forced him to miss the upcoming FIFA Club World Cup.

Despite these challenges, the 27-year-old persevered through the season, enduring pain. His agent, Mauro Alves, told Sport Bild, “The worst pain was in the mornings. Adrenaline helped him get through games, but his movements were limited — sprinting and jumping were very hard.”
