Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker has opened up about his future, revealing his intention to eventually return to Brazil.
“I’m not someone who looks too far ahead,” Alisson shared. “Right now, I’ve got one year left on my contract, plus an optional year the club will likely take up.”
He emphasized the importance of staying focused as the World Cup draws nearer: “This is a key stage in my career, and I want to keep my attention on what’s important without being sidetracked.”
When questioned about following in the footsteps of Brazilian stars like Neymar and Thiago Silva by returning to a club back home, Alisson said:
“I’ve spoken to players who made that move – some found success, others faced challenges. Everyone has their path. I do want to go back, especially to Internacional. I’m not sure when, but I’d like to return while I’m still playing at a top level. That’s something I’ve planned.”
Now 32, Alisson started his professional journey at Internacional, which paved the way for his European career with AS Roma and later Liverpool
