Darwin Núñez Responds to Federico Chiesa’s Liverpool Message Amid Exit Rumors
Amid growing speculation about their futures at Liverpool, Darwin Núñez has reacted to a social media post by teammate Federico Chiesa celebrating the club’s recent Premier League title win.
Although Liverpool clinched their 20th top-flight title, both players had limited impact throughout the season. Chiesa, signed last summer from Juventus and the only addition under new manager Arne Slot, featured in just six league games. Núñez, on the other hand, scored only five goals in 30 league appearances, often coming off the bench.
Chiesa marked the team’s title win on Instagram with a post captioned “Anfield Road,” which Núñez liked—adding fuel to speculation that both could be heading for the exit this summer. Reports suggest Liverpool are open to letting the duo leave as they revamp the squad.
Paul Scholes has also publicly suggested Chiesa might not stay at Anfield long-term.
Meanwhile, Liverpool are making moves in the transfer market, pushing ahead in the race to sign Bayer Leverkusen’s Florian Wirtz and eyeing his teammate Jeremie Frimpong. Leeds United are also reportedly set to sign Liverpool left-back Kostas Tsimikas.
As Liverpool prepares for another transformation under Slot, further high-profile departures and exciting new arrivals are expected in the coming weeks.
