Harvey Elliott has shared his thoughts on his future at Liverpool, admitting he needs to consider whether remaining at Anfield is the best move for his career during the upcoming transfer window.
The England U21 star notched five goals and three assists last season, yet he saw limited Premier League starts despite being fully fit.
In an interview with HaytersTV, Elliott said, “It’s something the team and I need to discuss. I’m 22 now and turning 23 next season. I don’t want to waste years in my career—it’s short and unpredictable.”
He openly reflected on the challenges of being on the edge of a successful squad managed by Arne Slot, despite believing he’s ready to contribute more.
“Playing in the PSG first leg felt like a peak moment for me,” Elliott noted. “I thought it could be the breakthrough I needed to earn more starts… but at the end of the day, the manager makes the decisions.”

With ongoing speculation about the futures of Luis Diaz, Darwin Nunez, and Federico Chiesa, Liverpool may face significant changes in their attacking lineup this summer. Still, Elliott is clearly mindful of the ticking clock.
“I need to reflect on whether I’m satisfied with my current role,” he added. “I don’t want to leave—I love this club—but ultimately, I have to do what’s best for my development.”
