Deco Hints at Limited Barcelona Transfer Activity This Summer

Barcelona’s summer transfer activity is expected to be minimal due to ongoing financial issues. The club is on the verge of signing goalkeeper Joan Garcia from Espanyol, but sporting director Deco suggests that only one more player might be added to the squad under new head coach Hansi Flick.

In a recent interview, Deco shared his thoughts on the team’s current roster and where reinforcements might be needed. He noted that the squad has a strong balance in both defense and midfield, mentioning players like Gavi and Marc Bernal, who are expected to progress following their injury recoveries. He also highlighted efforts to keep key players like Ronald Araujo and Dani Olmo fit.

As for potential signings, Deco indicated that the attack is the only area that might see reinforcement:

“In attack, it will depend on what we can do in the market. But it may be the only area in which we identify that one or the other player is missing.”

This aligns with earlier reports that Barcelona is seeking a new attacker, specifically a left winger. Luis Diaz of Liverpool has been mentioned as their top target, although a recent bid was rejected. Other potential options include Marcus Rashford and Nico Williams, though budget constraints may limit further move.
