Liverpool is reportedly nearing a deal for Bournemouth left-back Milos Kerkez, with The Athletic’s David Ornstein claiming there’s a “very strong chance” the move will go through.
Talks between Liverpool, Bournemouth, and Kerkez’s representatives are scheduled for this week, and personal terms have already been agreed upon. The only hurdle remaining is a final agreement between the two clubs.
Bournemouth appears to be preparing for Kerkez’s departure by lining up Rennes defender Adrien Truffert as a potential replacement. The 21-year-old Hungarian has impressed under manager Andoni Iraola and is seen as a long-term successor to Andy Robertson, who is now 31 and nearing the final year of his contract.
Kerkez, who joined Bournemouth for around £15.5 million from AZ Alkmaar, could now command a fee close to £40 million. His performances have significantly raised his profile and value.
Liverpool has already signed Jeremie Frimpong this summer and is also close to completing a deal for Frimpong’s highly rated teammate Florian Wirtz, who is expected to undergo a medical at Anfield shortly.
