Paul Scholes Tells Man Utd to Sign Eze After England’s Loss to Senegal
England’s sluggish form under new manager Thomas Tuchel continued with a 3-1 defeat to Senegal at the City Ground — their first-ever loss to an African side after previously winning 15 and drawing 6 in 21 games. Harry Kane opened the scoring early, but Senegal struck back before halftime and added two more goals in the second half to seal the upset.
Despite England’s underwhelming performance, Manchester United legend Paul Scholes highlighted one standout player he believes the club should urgently target this summer: Eberechi Eze.
Posting on Instagram, Scholes, who played 716 matches for United before retiring in 2013, shared a photo of Eze, currently linked with Tottenham, along with a blunt message directed at United’s recruitment team: “Just buy him.”
New United manager Ruben Amorim has already brought in Matheus Cunha and is set to welcome Bryan Mbeumo, while former Sporting CP striker Viktor Gyokeres is also on his radar. However, Scholes clearly sees Eze as a key solution to one of Amorim’s biggest challenges — the team’s lack of goals, with United ranking among the bottom five in the Premier League for goals scored last season.
As England aims to qualify for the 2026 World Cup, Eze may not have dazzled in recent outings, but Scholes is convinced he has the talent United desperately need.
