Saudi Pro League giants Al-Hilal have made a formal approach to Liverpool regarding a possible move for striker Darwin Núñez, while young defender Jarell Quansah continues to draw serious interest from Bundesliga champions Bayer Leverkusen.
According to David Ornstein of *The Athletic*, Al-Hilal contacted Liverpool on Monday to inquire about the terms of a potential deal. Although Saudi interest in Núñez has circulated for months, this is the first concrete step taken by one of the league’s top clubs.
Despite the lucrative interest, Núñez reportedly prefers to stay in Europe—ideally in Spain or Italy. Atlético Madrid are said to be keeping an eye on him, but no formal bid has been made so far.
Earlier this year, Liverpool rejected a £59 million offer from Al-Nassr for the Uruguayan striker, and that figure remains the benchmark for any sale. With the club eyeing a major move for Bayer Leverkusen’s Florian Wirtz—a deal that would require significant investment—offloading Núñez could help free up funds for a new forward.
Al-Hilal previously held discussions with Núñez’s representatives, reportedly proposing a salary exceeding £550,000 per week. At that point, Liverpool declined to engage in talks, focusing on their campaign across four competitions. But now that the season is over and priorities have shifted, the club seems more open to considering offers.
Meanwhile, interest in Jarell Quansah from Leverkusen continues to intensify. The 21-year-old defender has impressed the German club with his progress, and he’s under close watch as they assess their defensive options.
