Liverpool fans have a new reason to get excited as the club reportedly makes significant progress in signing Bournemouth’s talented left-back, Milos Kerkez. Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has revealed that negotiations involving Liverpool, Bournemouth, and the player’s representatives have been ongoing for several weeks, indicating that a deal is moving forward.

In a recent YouTube update, Romano said:

> “Liverpool’s next signing might be Milos Kerkez. Get ready, fans — talks with the clubs and player’s agents have been underway for weeks.”

This suggests the transfer could soon be finalized. If completed, Kerkez would join Liverpool as part of a broader defensive overhaul at Anfield, potentially alongside other targets like Jeremie Frimpong and Armin Pecsi. The club’s pursuit of the 21-year-old Hungarian international reflects their goal to renew and strengthen the squad under new head coach Arne Slot.

Since arriving at Bournemouth in 2023, Kerkez has impressed in the Premier League. He played 41 games last season, scoring twice and providing six assists, an impressive record for a defender. His consistent form and attacking style have caught the eye of Liverpool’s recruitment team, now including incoming sporting director Richard Hughes.

Kerkez also shares a strong connection with Liverpool midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai, as they regularly play together for Hungary, potentially easing his integration into the team.

Liverpool seems to be planning ahead for the left-back position, especially with Kostas Tsimikas facing transfer interest and only two years left on his contract. Kerkez could offer competition and eventually succeed Andy Robertson, who remains a key player but is nearing 30.

With his pace, attacking runs, and flair, Kerkez fits Liverpool’s style well and could add a new attacking dimension on the left side, especially if Frimpong arrives on the right.

Romano’s trusted updates and ongoing talks suggest that Milos Kerkez joining Liverpool is likely a matter of when, not if.
