Manchester United Join Pursuit of Hugo Ekitike

Manchester United have reportedly gathered all the necessary information regarding Hugo Ekitike’s availability, financial requirements, and Eintracht Frankfurt’s position on a potential deal.

Given United’s need for a versatile striker to bolster their attack ahead of the 2025/26 campaign, their interest in the young Frenchman is hardly surprising.

Ekitike, who made the switch to Frankfurt from Paris Saint-Germain after limited playing time in Ligue 1, has found his stride in the Bundesliga. His impressive performances have positioned him as one of Europe’s most promising young forwards.

United now enter an already competitive race that features Premier League rivals Liverpool and Chelsea, both of whom have monitored Ekitike for months and have been impressed with his development in Germany—where he has displayed both composure and goal-scoring ability.

However, securing Ekitike’s signature won’t be easy. Frankfurt have set a steep asking price of €100 million for the forward. It remains uncertain whether any suitors are willing to meet that valuation, but United’s interest appears to be serious.

With three top English clubs vying for the 22-year-old, the next few weeks will be critical in deciding his future. Frankfurt remain in a strong negotiating position and are under no pressure to sell unless their terms are met.

Having already secured Matheus Cunha from Wolves and eyeing Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo, Manchester United’s pursuit of Ekitike signals their intent to remain aggressive in the transfer market. Reports have also connected the club to Crystal Palace striker Jean-Philippe Mateta this summer
