Monaco proposed a loan deal in which Barcelona would still cover most of Fati’s substantial wages—an arrangement the Catalan club rejected due to ongoing financial difficulties and their aim to cut salary expenses.
Instead, Barcelona are pushing for a loan move that includes a purchase option, hoping to finalize Fati’s departure before the end of June to help balance their books in line with UEFA’s financial regulations.
Fati, who failed to secure a key role under Hansi Flick last season, is open to an exit. His agent, Jorge Mendes, is actively negotiating with Monaco, though there are still uncertainties surrounding the potential transfer.
The coming weeks will be decisive as Barcelona intensify efforts to find a new destination for the 22-year-old winger.
