Darwin Nunez’s future at Liverpool appears increasingly uncertain, with the striker potentially set to leave the club this summer.
The 25-year-old has struggled to deliver consistent performances in front of goal, netting just seven times last season. As a result, Liverpool are exploring other attacking options, and Nigerian forward Victor Osimhen has emerged as a possible replacement.
Osimhen on Liverpool’s Radar
According to Pete O’Rourke of Football Insider, Osimhen is being considered should Nunez exit, a scenario that is looking more and more probable.
Osimhen, currently with Napoli, has caught the attention of several clubs due to uncertainty surrounding his contract. While Manchester United and teams from Saudi Arabia are also interested, the striker reportedly prefers to remain in Europe.
A Potential Upgrade
Osimhen has built a strong reputation as a prolific scorer, and his combination of physical strength and technical skill make him a solid fit for the Premier League. Liverpool view him as a potential improvement over Nunez, although any deal would likely require a substantial financial commitment.
With his future at Napoli in doubt, Osimhen is reportedly eager to secure a long-term move this summer. After a highly successful stint on loan at Galatasaray, where he scored 37 goals, he seems ready to leave Italy for good and continue developing his career elsewhere
