Napoli’s star striker Victor Osimhen is aiming for a move to the Premier League next season, with initial talks already taking place between the Nigerian forward and Liverpool, according to TBR Football.
The 26-year-old, regarded as one of the top strikers globally, has attracted strong interest from Liverpool. However, Manchester United are also in the hunt, intensifying competition for his signature.
Osimhen is coming off an impressive loan spell at Galatasaray, where he scored 37 goals in 41 matches—a performance that has caught the attention of England’s top sides.
After declining a high-paying offer from Saudi Arabia, Osimhen has made it clear that he wants to stay at the highest level in European football. His departure from Napoli looks inevitable, with the Italian club open to selling him this summer. His current contract includes a £63 million release clause.
Fresh off a Premier League title win, Liverpool are looking to bolster their attack. Darwin Núñez had a disappointing campaign, scoring just seven goals, and Osimhen is seen as a major upgrade to help the club retain their domestic title and contend in Europe.
Manchester United, on the other hand, are coming off a poor season and need attacking reinforcements. With Joshua Zirkzee and Rasmus Højlund struggling to make an impact, United view Osimhen as central to their rebuild and ambitions to return to the Champions League.
Both clubs are expected to make key decisions in the coming weeks as they consider whether to actiavate Osimhen’s release clause
