Chelsea Close to Signing Victor Gyokeres, Confirms Fabrizio Romano
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that Chelsea FC is set to sign Swedish striker Victor Gyokeres from Sporting CP. The 26-year-old forward, who has had an outstanding season with 53 goals in 51 matches, is expected to join the Premier League club for a reported €65 million (£55 million).
Chelsea has been actively searching for a reliable goal-scorer due to inconsistent performances from their current attacking options, particularly Nicolas Jackson. Gyokeres is seen as a major solution to their offensive struggles, offering both pace and finishing ability.
Romano stated that negotiations between Chelsea, Sporting, and the player have been ongoing for months and that terms have already been agreed upon. However, competition remains fierce, with other clubs like Arsenal and AC Milan also showing interest.
In addition to pursuing Gyokeres, Chelsea is targeting other talents during the summer window. One such player is Ipswich Town’s Liam Delap, although Everton is reportedly trying to hijack that deal.
