With Liverpool on the cusp of clinching the Premier League title, reports suggest the club is preparing a £95 million double swoop on Bournemouth, as manager Arne Slot seeks to strengthen the squad ahead of a busy summer.
Slot is reportedly focused on reinforcing several positions — including left-back, centre-back, right-back, striker, and attacking midfield. Although his first transfer window was relatively quiet, with only Federico Chiesa and Giorgi Mamardashvili arriving (the former barely featured while the latter remained on loan at Valencia), Slot has successfully guided Liverpool to the league summit.
This summer, however, the Reds are expected to be much more proactive in the transfer market. Bournemouth left-back Milos Kerkez is said to be high on Slot’s priority list, alongside centre-back Dean Huijsen. Huijsen’s £50 million release clause could potentially be paid in three instalments, making the deal more manageable financially.
According to the Daily Mail, Liverpool are seriously pursuing both Kerkez and Huijsen in a joint £95 million move, although Chelsea and Arsenal are also reportedly interested. Valued at £45 million, Kerkez is being viewed as a long-term successor to 31-year-old Andy Robertson, whose performances have begun to decline.
Everton defender Jarrad Branthwaite is also being considered as a backup option to Huijsen, though any potential move could be complicated by the rivalry between the two Merseyside clubs.
Liverpool are also targeting an additional striker and attacking midfielder, particularly as Darwin Núñez’s future remains uncertain. Meanwhile, Bournemouth are believed to be monitoring several Liverpool players, including Caoimhin Kelleher, Harvey Elliott, and Ben Doak. Kelleher is expected to leave the club once Mamardashvili officially arrives
