Napoli Set to Secure Nunez and Chiesa—Pending Osimhen’s Move to Anfield
Napoli are reportedly close to finalizing a remarkable double transfer, with Darwin Nunez and Federico Chiesa set to join the club from Liverpool ahead of the 2025–26 season—provided Victor Osimhen completes a move to Anfield.
Italian journalist Gerardo Fasano claims both Nunez and Chiesa have already agreed in principle to the transfers. However, the deals are contingent on Osimhen’s switch to Liverpool being finalized.
If the Nigerian forward joins Liverpool, it would significantly strengthen their attack and open the door for Nunez and Chiesa to make the move to Naples.
Underwhelming Season at Liverpool
Nunez struggled during the past Premier League campaign, netting only five goals in 30 games—a sharp drop compared to previous performances. Chiesa, meanwhile, failed to make an impact under new boss Arne Slot, making just six league appearances after his move from Juventus.
Conte’s Ambitious Rebuild Underway
Napoli’s pursuit of the two forwards is part of Antonio Conte’s aggressive squad overhaul, aimed at mounting a strong challenge in Serie A and the Champions League. The club has already pulled off a major surprise this summer by signing Kevin De Bruyne from Manchester City on a free transfer.
Ongoing Negotiations
Talks between Liverpool and Napoli are still in progress as both sides work to finalize the terms. If completed, the deals would mark a significant change in Liverpool’s attack and reinforce Napoli’s high ambitions for the upcoming season.
A successful conclusion to the talks would benefit both teams and could lead to a transformed attacking lineup for each in 2025–26
