Liverpool are reportedly open to selling Ibrahima Konaté this summer if he does not agree to a new contract, according to Fichajes.net.
With uncertainty around player contracts becoming a growing issue at Anfield, the Reds are determined to avoid losing another key player for free—especially after Trent Alexander-Arnold left for Real Madrid following the expiration of his contract.
Although both Virgil van Dijk and Mohamed Salah recently renewed their deals, Konaté’s current contract runs only until 2026. The club is reportedly considering selling him now rather than risk a repeat of the Alexander-Arnold situation.
The 25-year-old defender, described by many as “world-class,” has attracted interest from top European clubs including PSG and Real Madrid. Liverpool would prefer to keep him, especially after his role in helping the team secure the Premier League title. However, if he does not commit to a contract extension this summer, the club may allow him to leave.
Reports suggest Konaté is seeking a salary comparable to Liverpool’s top earners—Van Dijk, Salah, and new arrival Florian Wirtz. But given Fenway Sports Group’s firm wage policy, that may not be realistic, increasing the likelihood of a summer exit.
Meanwhile, manager Arne Slot is bracing for a busy transfer window. Andy Robertson is reportedly interested in joining Atletico Madrid, and both Darwin Nunez and Federico Chiesa could be on their way out. Diogo Jota is also drawing interest, notably from Newcastle United.
