Adam Lewis was once seen as a rising star at Liverpool, with none other than Steven Gerrard declaring him the best young talent he’d ever seen in his age group — even better than himself at that stage. Lewis, a promising full-back from the club’s academy, made his senior debut in a 2020 FA Cup win against Shrewsbury Town. Unfortunately, that appearance turned out to be his only one for the first team.
Despite early hype and significant backing from a club legend, Lewis’s career didn’t follow the expected trajectory. He spent several seasons on loan — including spells in France with Amiens, and in the UK with Plymouth Argyle, Livingston, and Newport County — before permanently leaving Liverpool in 2024.
He joined Morecambe that year and was a regular in their lineup, but the team struggled and was relegated from the Football League by the end of the 2024/25 season. Still, his performances were solid enough to earn a move to Chesterfield, where he is set to continue playing in League Two.
Internationally, Lewis represented England at multiple youth levels, including two caps for the U20s.
