Liverpool Close to Signing Marc Guehi

Liverpool are nearing a deal to sign England defender Marc Guehi from Crystal Palace, having reportedly agreed personal terms with the player.

Sources suggest Guehi has agreed to a five-year contract running until June 2030. The agreement is said to be verbal at this stage, with all parties satisfied with the progress so far.

Liverpool are now preparing to begin formal negotiations with Crystal Palace over a transfer fee. However, discussions are expected to begin only after Palace secure a replacement—Sporting Lisbon’s Ousmane Diomande is their primary target.

Palace have placed a £50 million price tag on Guehi, seeking at least £35 million upfront and an additional £15 million in add-ons. Liverpool are initially planning to offer around £40 million, setting the stage for serious negotiations.

The potential deal has also been made easier by the expected £35 million sale of Liverpool’s young defender Jarrell Quansah to Bayer Leverkusen.

Strengthening the defence is a priority for new manager Arne Slot, and Guehi has emerged as a key target following standout performances at both club and international level.

If all goes smoothly, Liverpool could finalize the transfer before the end of the month
