Liverpool are set to take on Crystal Palace, the 2025 FA Cup winners, in this year’s Community Shield, with the FA confirming the match will be held at Wembley Stadium on Sunday, August 10, kicking off at 3pm.
TNT Sports had hinted at the date during their Champions League final broadcast, and it has now been officially confirmed. The match will be exclusively televised by TNT Sports, moving away from ITV, which aired the last four editions for free.
The Community Shield traditionally features the Premier League champions versus the FA Cup winners, with last year’s edition played on a Saturday between Manchester City and Manchester United.

With the Premier League kicking off just five days after the Community Shield, Liverpool face a quick turnaround. Manager Arne Slot is unlikely to raise concerns, as a packed fixture list is expected for the 2025/26 season, with the team competing on multiple fronts.
The Palace clash wraps up a busy pre-season that includes five friendly matches. The campaign starts with a visit to Preston on July 13, followed by a trip to Asia for high-profile games against AC Milan and Yokohama F. Marinos.
On returning to Merseyside, Liverpool will host two back-to-back matches against Athletic Club before the Community Shield showdown.
Liverpool’s squad is undergoing changes, with Jeremie Frimpong already signed, and further deals for Florian Wirtz and Milos Kerkez nearing completion. The Reds are also eyeing Palace defender Marc Guehi to potentially replace Jarell Quansah, who is set to join Bayer Leverkusen.
