Alejandro Garnacho and a Premier League counterpart might switch clubs this summer in a move that could benefit both teams.
Manchester United are reportedly considering using Garnacho as part of a deal to secure the services of a top Premier League player.
The young winger has sparked transfer speculation after recently causing a stir among United fans by wearing a rival team’s shirt. Amid growing interest from multiple clubs, Chelsea have emerged as a potential destination, with new boss Enzo Maresca keen to strengthen his squad for the 2025/26 campaign.
Chelsea are also planning a summer clear-out, and one player expected to leave is Christopher Nkunku, who has reportedly caught the attention of United.
A potential player exchange involving Garnacho heading to Stamford Bridge and Nkunku moving to Old Trafford is being considered, according to The Telegraph. While an official swap deal is not currently on the table, individual transfers that see both players change clubs could address pressing squad needs for both Chelsea and United.
Chelsea are targeting a new left winger, and Garnacho is said to be one of three names on their shortlist, which also includes Borussia Dortmund’s Jamie Bynoe-Gittens and Lyon’s Malik Fofana.
United, meanwhile, are eyeing another attacker following their recent acquisition of Matheus Cunha from Wolves. Nkunku fits their criteria as a potential reinforcement.
Garnacho, who joined United’s academy from Atletico Madrid, has risen through the ranks and became a first-team regular, netting 11 goals in 58 appearances last season.
