Liverpool continue to be strongly linked with Newcastle United forward Alexander Isak, with new boss Arne Slot reportedly making him a top target.
According to Fichajes, the Reds are considering another high-profile signing after their blockbuster acquisition of Florian Wirtz. Isak, recognized as a “world-class” player by Premier League icon Alan Shearer, is now high on Liverpool’s wishlist.
Isak Viewed as Ideal Addition to Attack
The Swedish international, who scored 23 goals and provided six assists last season, is valued at around €120 million. Liverpool see him as an ideal fit for their front line due to his technical quality, creativity, and ability to play both as a central striker and on the flanks. His arrival would add flexibility and firepower to the squad, possibly improving on the inconsistent performances of Darwin Núñez and Diogo Jota.
Possible Replacement for Cody Gakpo
Isak could also serve as a replacement for Cody Gakpo, whose future at Anfield is currently uncertain. Gakpo scored 18 times last season but has recently been the subject of transfer speculation.
While Newcastle are financially strong and not in urgent need to sell, the situation could change if Isak opts not to extend his contract. In that case, the club may be compelled to consider offers — paving the way for Liverpool to make their move.
The outcome may largely depend on Isak’s stance regarding a new deal, making this one of the transfer stories to watch in the weeks ahead.
