Nunez set to leave Anfield for NapoliLiverpool eye Gyokeres as replacement

Since joining Liverpool from Benfica in 2022, Darwin Nunez has had an inconsistent run, showing glimpses of talent but struggling with consistency in front of goal. Although Saudi side Al-Nassr tried to sign him in January, Napoli now appears to be closing in on the striker in a deal valued around €50 million (£43m/\$58m).

With Nunez set to depart, manager Arne Slot is eager to strengthen the squad. According to Correio da Manha, Liverpool is preparing to challenge Arsenal’s pursuit of Gyokeres. The club has asked intermediaries to inquire about the striker’s exact price. Gyokeres, 26, reportedly has a release clause of €80 million (£68m/\$93m).
