According to TBR Football, Arsenal are preparing a surprise bid to sign Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) midfielder Warren Zaire-Emery this summer. The 19-year-old French talent, valued at around €103 million, is highly regarded in Ligue 1 and has caught the attention of the Gunners.
Arsenal have already secured a deal for Martin Zubimendi, though the club has yet to officially announce it. The Spanish midfielder is expected to join Mikel Arteta’s squad shortly.
Despite this, the Gunners are still looking to strengthen their midfield, particularly with uncertainty surrounding Thomas Partey’s future. Partey’s contract is set to expire at the end of this month, and signs point to him leaving the Emirates.
As a result, Arsenal have identified Zaire-Emery as a possible replacement. They reportedly contacted PSG earlier this week to explore the possibility of a transfer. The young midfielder made 50 appearances, scoring 3 goals and providing 2 assists for PSG this season.
However, breaking this deal won’t be easy. Despite being behind players like Vitinha, Joao Neves, and Fabian Ruiz in PSG’s lineup under Luis Enrique, Zaire-Emery has no plans to leave. PSG also have no intention of selling him, viewing him as a key part of their future. His contract runs until 2029, which gives PSG the upper hand in any negotiations.
To convince PSG, Arsenal would likely need to submit an exceptionally large offer.
Arsenal and PSG Also Monitor Rodrygo Goes
In addition to their midfield pursuits, both Arsenal and PSG are reportedly keeping tabs on Rodrygo Goes of Real Madrid, as per Sports Zone. The Brazilian forward’s future in Madrid looks uncertain, with reports from Fichajes suggesting that the club may be open to selling him for around €100 million.
Real Madrid are looking to raise funds for further squad improvements, and Rodrygo is no longer considered untouchable.
Arsenal, in search of attacking reinforcements, are said to be seriously interested in signing Rodrygo. The club has already opened talks with his representatives. However, they face competition, as Rodrygo’s agents have also engaged with PSG, Liverpool, and Manchester City.
