BREAKING: Arsenal Prepare Bid for Eberechi Eze After Direct Talks with Crystal Palace StarArsenal are preparing a formal offer for Crystal Palace midfielder Eberechi Eze, according to transfer insider Ben Jacobs.

The move follows a direct pitch from senior Arsenal staff to the player, who is reportedly eager to join Mikel Arteta’s squad

.Eze, who played a crucial role in Crystal Palace’s FA Cup triumph—scoring the winning goal in the final against Manchester City—finished the 2024/25 season with 25 goal contributions in 43 appearances.

His performances have made him a top target for Arsenal, who are believed to be leading the race for his signature ahead of Tottenham Hotspur.

The England international has a £68 million release clause in his current contract.

However, Arsenal hope to negotiate a lower fee or structure a deal that includes add-ons and staggered payments, rather than triggering the clause outright.Transfer expert Ben Jacobs told talkSPORT that a meeting took place over the weekend, where Arsenal presented their long-term vision directly to Eze.> “There’s no doubt Eze is keen on the move. Arsenal officials met with him and outlined their project,” Jacobs said.

He also noted that the release clause mechanism is complex, similar to the situation surrounding Michael Olise. While Palace are reluctant to sell and may insist that any suitor pays the full release clause, Arsenal are expected to submit a formal bid soon. Palace are also facing pressure from elsewhere, with Liverpool reportedly eyeing club captain Marc Guehi.

Despite leading Palace to European qualification for the first time in the club’s history, Eze is believed to be open to a step up, and Arsenal view him as a key creative addition for the upcoming season.-
