According to reports, Fenerbahce manager Jose Mourinho is pushing the club to secure the signing of Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford, who is also being monitored by Barcelona. Rashford, who spent the latter part of the 2024-25 season on loan at Aston Villa, is expected to leave Old Trafford this summer, as United have listed him for sale.
As reported by Fanatik (via Barca Universal), Mourinho is eager for a reunion with Rashford, whom he coached nearly ten years ago during his time at Manchester United. The Turkish club is aiming to strengthen its squad to rival Galatasaray in the upcoming 2025-26 Super Lig campaign. They’ve already secured a loan deal for Jhon Duran from Al-Nassr and unsuccessfully attempted to sign Jadon Sancho.
Despite Rashford’s interest in joining Barcelona, talks have stalled, and Mourinho hopes his personal connection with the player can influence a move to Fenerbahce. If negotiations advance, Mourinho reportedly plans to speak with Rashford directly.
Barcelona, meanwhile, are still in the market for a left winger after failing to sign Nico Williams, who renewed his contract with Athletic Club. Their focus is currently on Liverpool’s Luis Diaz, though Rashford remains on their radar. Additionally, journalist Albert Fernandez has revealed that RB Leipzig’s Antonio Nusa and AS Monaco’s Eliesse Ben Seghir have also been added to Barça’s shortlist as backup options.
