Barcelona Set to Intensify Pursuit of Luis Díaz as Liverpool Prepare for Offers
Liverpool are preparing for incoming bids for Luis Díaz in the near future, following Nico Williams’ decision to remain at Athletic Bilbao.
According to former Manchester United and Blackburn scout Mick Brown who still holds strong ties within football Barcelona are expected to ramp up efforts to sign the 28-year-old winger. Brown shared this insight in an exclusive with Football Insider.
Williams was originally Barcelona’s top choice for the left-wing position. However, with him staying at Bilbao, the Spanish club is now focusing on Díaz as their next primary target.
Last month, Football Insider reported that Liverpool manager Arne Slot values Díaz at £70 million and had turned down Barcelona’s earlier inquiry.
Although Barcelona continue to view the Colombian star as a key objective, there are concerns that meeting Liverpool’s valuation could prove difficult unless the club is open to negotiations.
Consequently, Hansi Flick’s team is also exploring other options, including increased interest in Marcus Rashford, as revealed by Brown.
