Other young players also made their mark. Trey Nyoni impressed with his composure in midfield, Luca Stephenson adapted well at centre-back despite being out of position, and Ben Doak, returning from injury, provided an assist for Cody Gakpo.
Even with a full senior squad available, Slot’s decision to give youth players valuable minutes has sparked excitement among fans. With so many prospects stepping up, Liverpool’s next generation may be ready to shine sooner than expected.
