Arsenal are closing in on a deal for Viktor Gyokeres after increasing their fixed offer to €63.5m plus €10m in bonuses, effectively matching Sporting CP’s valuation. The main hurdle remains the structure of the bonuses — Arsenal’s latest proposal tying €7m of bonuses to tougher conditions was rejected by Sporting, who want all bonuses easily achievable.
Despite the impasse, Arsenal remain confident of sealing the transfer this week, with Gyokeres having agreed to a five-year contract and a medical planned by the weekend. His agent waived his 10% commission to facilitate the move.
Additionally, Valencia defender Cristhian Mosquera is set for a £16.5m move, with a medical scheduled for Wednesday.
Meanwhile, Noni Madueke’s £50m switch from Chelsea is complete and official confirmation is imminent.
