Liam Delap Sets Ambitious Target for 2025/26 Season: ‘Bring More Trophies Home to This Special Club’

Liam Delap is determined to make his mark at Chelsea after lifting the Club World Cup in his first few weeks at the club. The young striker, who played a crucial role throughout the tournament, is already setting his sights on adding more silverware in the coming season.

Delap contributed with a goal against ES Tunis and an assist on his debut versus Los Angeles FC, helping the Blues reach the knockout stages. Though he was denied a goal in the final by Paris Saint-Germain’s Gianluigi Donnarumma, the victory and the winner’s medal have fuelled his hunger.

“It’s a great start for me,” Delap said. “Now we have to push on into next season and bring more trophies home to this special club.”

The 21-year-old was full of praise for his teammates, especially Cole Palmer, who netted twice in the final. Delap emphasized the collective strength of the squad and the importance of maintaining a winning mentality.

“We have got to keep that winning mentality and win more trophies. It’s a really special group and I think we can go on to do special things,” he added.

With Chelsea competing on multiple fronts in the 2025/26 campaign, Delap is focused on cementing his place in the squad and contributing to what he hopes will be a season filled with further triumphs.
