Marcus Rashford Responds as Liverpool Consider Shock Move for Man United Star
Marcus Rashford has made his stance on Liverpool clear amid surprising reports that the Merseyside club is exploring a potential move for the Manchester United forward.
Since Ruben Amorim replaced Erik ten Hag at United in November, Rashford’s future at Old Trafford has been in doubt. Amorim allowed him to go on a short-term loan to Aston Villa just two months into his tenure, fueling speculation that Rashford’s time at United is coming to an end. With Barcelona and PSG showing interest, a permanent summer exit now seems likely.
In an unexpected twist, reports on Wednesday claimed Liverpool are now among the clubs eyeing Rashford, despite the fierce rivalry between the two sides. Only nine players have ever made the direct switch from United to Liverpool, and Rashford’s previous comments suggest he’d be reluctant to become the tenth.
Back in 2022, on The Shop, Rashford admitted: “I don’t like Liverpool and City. Liverpool has more history, so the rivalry feels deeper.” Yet, he also complimented the Anfield atmosphere, calling it the best he’s experienced as a fan.
According to The Daily Mail, Rashford is just one of six striker options Liverpool are weighing up if their top target, Alexander Isak, becomes unavailable. Others on the shortlist include Ollie Watkins, Yoan Wissa, Victor Osimhen, Hugo Ekitike, and Rodrygo.
