Arsenal have reportedly overtaken Liverpool in the pursuit of Salford City’s highly-rated youngster Will Wright.
Liverpool had been in talks with Salford over the 17-year-old striker, but the Liverpool Echo reports that negotiations have broken down after the Reds failed to meet the club’s £300,000 valuation.
With Liverpool now out of the race, Arsenal are in prime position to secure Wright’s signature. The Gunners view the teenager as a strong addition to their academy ranks and a promising option for the future as they continue investing in young talent.
