Liverpool Reach Agreement to Sign Milos Kerkez from Bournemouth in £45m Deal

Liverpool are closing in on the signing of Bournemouth left-back Milos Kerkez, with a full agreement between the two clubs reportedly in place. The final deal is expected to be worth around £45 million, including add-ons.
Kerkez, who has been on international duty with Hungary, has now left the national team camp amid growing speculation over his move to Anfield. Hungarian Football Federation released a statement confirming that Kerkez departed the team’s training base in Telki for “private reasons” and will not travel for their upcoming match against Azerbaijan in Baku.
The 21-year-old was present at the training facility in Budapest on Thursday but did not take part in team training. It’s understood that with talks between Liverpool and Bournemouth reaching an advanced stage, both clubs prefer to avoid the risk of injury that could derail the transfer.
Final Talks Underway
Liverpool are expected to hold one final round of talks with Bournemouth in the coming days to finalize remaining details. The deal is reportedly set to land between £40–45 million, including performance-related bonuses.
Arne Slot Targets Key Reinforcement
Kerkez has emerged as Liverpool’s top choice to strengthen their defensive line, especially following Trent Alexander-Arnold’s departure. Sporting Director Richard Hughes, who originally brought Kerkez to the Premier League in 2023 while at Bournemouth, is said to be driving the move.
Last week, Kerkez hinted at a potential exit from Bournemouth with a social media post thanking the Cherries’ fans and saying:
“I don’t know what will happen in the next week, but Cherries family — thank you!”
This transfer would mark another major step in Liverpool’s aggressive summer rebuild under new manager Arne Slot, as they look to defend their Premier League crown and compete across all fronts.
