Manchester United Submit Final Offer for Bryan Mbeumo — £70M Package on the Table
Manchester United have taken a significant step in their pursuit of Brentford winger Bryan Mbeumo, submitting an enhanced offer totalling £70 million. The bid includes a £65 million guaranteed fee plus £5 million in add-ons, structured around performance-based incentives such as goals, assists, appearances, and potential Champions League qualification.
This latest proposal represents United’s third and final offer for the 25-year-old Cameroon international. Club sources have indicated that they consider this to be a fair valuation and are not planning to enter into further negotiations if Brentford turn it down. If the bid is rejected, Manchester United are prepared to explore alternative options in the wide forward market.
Why Mbeumo?
Bryan Mbeumo has emerged as a priority signing for manager Rúben Amorim, who is looking to inject fresh dynamism and attacking depth into the squad ahead of the 2025/26 campaign. Mbeumo fits the profile Amorim wants: fast, direct, technically sound, and capable of playing on either wing or as a second striker.
With Antony struggling for consistency, Jadon Sancho’s future uncertain, and Amad Diallo still developing, United see Mbeumo as a ready-made, Premier League-proven attacker who can hit the ground running. Last season, Mbeumo contributed 10 goals and 7 assists in all competitions despite Brentford’s mid-table struggles, and he’s widely regarded as one of the most underrated attackers in the league.
Timing Is Key
United are pushing to complete the deal before the club’s pre-season tour, which begins in a few weeks. Integrating Mbeumo early would give Amorim time to implement his tactical systems with all key players available.
The club’s new transfer approach — led by technical director Jason Wilcox and Amorim — is focused on early recruitment, to avoid last-minute panic buys and to allow for a smooth transition into the new season.
Brentford’s Stance
Brentford, meanwhile, are reluctant to part ways with Mbeumo unless they receive an offer they can’t refuse. The Bees see him as a vital part of Thomas Frank’s system, especially with striker Ivan Toney also linked with a summer move. Losing both in one window would be a major blow. However, with United’s latest offer reaching the £70M mark, Brentford are expected to give it serious consideration.
