Arsenal Preparing £69m Opening Bid for Rodrygo Amid Liverpool Interest – Report

According to Caught Offside, Arsenal is preparing a £69 million opening bid for Real Madrid’s Brazilian winger Rodrygo, who has also attracted strong interest from Liverpool.

Rodrygo’s future at Madrid appears uncertain, especially under new manager Xabi Alonso, where he has often found himself on the bench — including during the Club World Cup. With limited opportunities on the left flank due to Vinícius Júnior’s presence, Rodrygo may be tempted by a move to a club that offers him more regular playing time in his preferred position.

Despite Real Madrid valuing Rodrygo at around £87 million, Arsenal hopes to land him for less. The Gunners have already had a busy transfer window, securing signings like Kepa Arrizabalaga, Martin Zubimendi, and Christian Norgaard, with Noni Madueke and Cristhian Mosquera reportedly close to joining.

Rodrygo had a strong season, registering 25 goal contributions, with 12 coming in just as many appearances on the left wing. Known for his dribbling and precise passing — with a 91% pass completion rate in La Liga — he offers a level of consistency that current Arsenal options Martinelli and Trossard have lacked.

If Arsenal can offload a few players to raise additional funds, they could move quickly to seal a deal — especially with Premier League champions Liverpool also circling.

At 24, Rodrygo represents both immediate impact and long-term value. But Madrid are expected to reject Arsenal’s initial £69m bid unless it’s significantly improved.
