Ekitike Waiting on Liverpool-Frankfurt Agreement as Talks Progress
Liverpool are reportedly deep in negotiations with Eintracht Frankfurt to sign French striker Hugo Ekitike, with the 23-year-old now awaiting the final green light.
Ekitike impressed last season in the Bundesliga, netting 22 goals and providing 11 assists in all competitions. According to The Athletic and journalist Florian Plettenberg, Liverpool have submitted a formal offer, but a deal on the transfer fee is yet to be finalized.
Plettenberg shared on X:
“As of Thursday evening, there’s still no agreement between Eintracht Frankfurt and Liverpool regarding Hugo Ekitike. Talks continue. Liverpool have made one official offer. Ekitike wants the move, and personal terms are nearly agreed. Now he’s just waiting on the clubs.”
Why Ekitike Fits Liverpool
With Darwin Núñez still struggling to find consistency, Liverpool could see Ekitike as the perfect option to lead the line. If Núñez is moved on this summer, Ekitike’s lethal finishing and creativity would be a timely upgrade for Arne Slot’s system.
A Busy Summer at Anfield
Liverpool have already made bold moves this summer by signing Florian Wirtz, Jeremie Frimpong, and Milos Kerkez. If they land Ekitike too, it would be a major boost to their hopes of defending the Premier League title in the 2025/26 season.
